Hello everyone J as you've probably guessed by now, my name is Reggie although mummy & daddy do seem to call me a whole raft of other names on a regular basis!!
Reggie-Roo-Roo
Bubba-lips
Squidgy-bum
Pickle-pot
It’s a good job I’m smart enough to know that Reggie is my proper name, a less intelligent hound would clearly develop a personality disorder…
Apparently I was named after Reggie Kray…. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kray_twins as dad thought I was a ‘right little Charlie’ when they first picked me up and thought I needed a name befitting my character… I have to say I’m pretty proud of my name J
I was found in May 2010 in an area called Alton by a chap called the Dog Warden….. up until that point I had spent a long time being all alone and hungry and scared and hungry and cold and hungry and covered in mange and hungry and sore and did I mention hungry?
The nice dog warden dropped me off at a local kennels and I stayed there for 2 weeks in something called quarantine - not sure what that was but people came and saw me everyday and gave me lots of food and water so I didn't mind too much. I was also told that I had itchy, sctatchy mange and they kept put me in water with bubbles to try and get rid of the mange and I did mind that!! Dogs are not meant to be clean and shiney you know....
Once the itchy, scratchy stuff had gone I had to pose for lots of pictures so that I could find a rescue place..... This is one of the pictures they took.
Lots of rescues were contacted including Southern Lurcher Rescue www.southernlurcherrescue.org.uk where a lovely lady called Jenny was immediately overwhelmed by my good looks and agreed to take me in.
SLR are a rescue that use foster homes and Jenny got on the case to find one of those for me..... that's where mummy and daddy come into this story. You see they were never meant to be my mummy & daddy they were only meant to be my foster mummy & daddy but I had other ideas let me tell you.......
The minute they brought me into their home I knew they were a soft touch. A quick hop up onto foster daddies knee, a roll onto my back, a needy look into his eyes and he was hooked. I mean really, who could have resisted me???
